Lamar's Corporate office is now hiring a new Sales Support Associate to help provide sales support to the National Sales team and/or regional sales teams. This position will work with some national and/or regional customers directly. The Sales Account Specialist usually supports about $15-$20 million in National Sales. Also responsible for the centralized standardization of workflow function for research, prospecting, promotional activities, and scheduling appointments for New Business Development Sales Representatives. The SAS will engage with potential decision makers, present Lamar’s credentials, demonstrate capabilities, and determine client requirements, and directions of solutions.

This position will be in-office and based out of the Lamar San Bernardino, CA location.

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing, or Communications field.
  • 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
  • Experience in data management and Gmail preferred.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

A day in the life:

  • Reading and understanding proposal requests from customers.
  • Creating proposal requests in the proposal system, and reviewing proposal information for completeness and accuracy before sending to the customer.
  • Assisting with receiving inventory and rate negotiation process.
  • Maintaining accurate records in the Campaign Manager system for designated sales team members.
  • Assist with creating contracts for campaigns and checking customer contracts for accuracy.
  • Assists with the oversight of the execution of campaigns (including material communicating, tracking, posting, take down, etc.)
  • Competitive Analysis Reporting- Researches, analyzes and reports to the customer the cost of outdoor advertising for customers' competitors.
  • Post Buy Analysis- Evaluation of a media schedule or portion of a schedule that has run in order to determine the performance of delivered audience, derived cost efficiency and other aspects compared to buying objectives
  • Achieve agreements for discovery meetings, gain permission to present proposals and maximize the speed, quantity, and quality of New Business team appointments
  • Communicate with creative and marketing departments as a resource for the creation of promotional collateral
  • Implement Account Based Sales tactics and recognize sales opportunities by researching and prospecting in key verticals and approaching the right decision-makers in key business categories
  • Create and develop frictionless automatic sequences in key verticals
  • Operate in close proximity to the business functions and target verticals with NBD Sales Representatives
  • Set up emails and to confirm appointments for NBD Sales Representatives
  • Assume responsibility for Sales people’s calendars and relative importance to maximize productivity
  • Procure and maintain contact lists in Salesforce and keep campaign manager reports up to date
  • Create and automate email sequences for Quality Control TouchPoint, Retention & Growth Touchpoints, and Historical Renewal Reminders tasks
  • Develop a process for tracking and updating the campaign management system with a number of weekly, monthly, and YTD appointments as well as proposals and closed sales for each vertical and sales representative

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • The primary work environment is an office.
  • The specific physical demands/requirements of the job include: lifting less than 25% of the time, reading, color distinction, acuity, sitting greater than 50% of the time, and talking.
  • The typical percentage of time spent traveling and spending nights away from home is less than 10%.
